summer fashion trends.

Image
it's officially summer, and has been for like 8 days now. I think.. nevertheless, the trends are here and in full effect and I couldn't be happier. my pockets are hurting like something serious, but i'm about to be popping like a bag of ACT popcorn kernels, ok? I did some online shopping (thanks to my wonderfully magnificent boyfriend, Derric) and got some really cute things from my favorite stores [ click here to see the list of my favorite stores.] while shopping online, i saw a lot of things that are becoming super popular. 1) fishnets. obviously this trend is nothing new. it's been around forever, but more-so recently has started tobecome a staple among a lot of wardrobes. people are wearing them under jeans, skirts, rompers, etc. to add some style and a bit of edginess into their look. 2) 2-piece sets this is another trend that isn't new, but it's extremely popular. thanks to sites like fashion nova, shein, romwe, boohoo, zaful and more, they

starbucks favs. [summer edition.]

I'm a Starbucks fanatic, ok.. I love Starbucks at any time of the day, any season. Despite this, there are certain things that I prefer to get in the Summer over the Winter and vice-versa. I'll do the Winter edition at a later date (probably in the Winter....), but for now I'm going to give you my favorite drinks (with my own little twist to it, of course.) 1) Strawberry A çaí Refresher - light ice. - get lemonade, instead of water. [if you're really feeling fancy, try coconut milk. it isn't terrible.] - add 2 pumps of mango. GIRL, this drink will make you feel so good. It's such a good drink. It's sweet, but it isn't too sweet. It's perfect for those warm Summer days when you want something good, but not something that's overdoing it. also, if you're like me and are naturally attracted to things that are nice to look at, this drink is so pretty and cute. 2) Teavana Shaken Iced Teas - sweetened, duh.. (unless unsweetened is

how to: dress up your everyday looks.

If you're like me and you're hoping to add some flavor into your everyday fashions, then fear not. You don't have to spend a whole lot and you definitely don't have to start completely over. It's little stuff you can do to make your looks iconic on a daily basis. 1) Add some accessories Even the smallest of things such as chains and chokers can help to make your look stand out. Adding a pair of cool glasses (which you can get on amazon for less than 5 bucks), makes you look like you have it all together even if you know you're dying on the inside.. [insert shrugging emoji here] 2) Switch it up Don't be afraid to go outside the norm. Wear a pair of comfy sneakers with a t-shirt dress. Even though the look is super comfy and will make you feel like you rolled out of bed and right into class, others will look and say, "wow, she looks cute." 3) Don't be so quick to stick to pants Skirts and dresses in general look nice. Typically people use the Spring as a time of reflection and cleansing and self-meditation, but I'm obviously the opposite... I've been out of school for Summer vacation since the end of April and I've been fighting so many battles ever since. Internal and external. It's a battle, but I'm getting through it and I love the fact that I am. I lost my passion for fashion and beauty that was once my main focus. I started to take away my own dreams, I don't know what happened... but it's changing. I feel like I'm close to having my mojo back. I'm getting inspired and just feeling better about makeup and what I want to do. I was so scared and just kept doubting myself. It wasn't like a switch or an overnight thing, but it definitely changed and I'm so glad it did. Self worth and strength is such a hard and taboo topic. It's so difficult to discuss and especially acknowledge, but I'm getting better. Lately I've been looking at flowers. Y
